Sinatra
- with James Chadwick
AN EVENING WITH "Ol' BLUE EYES"
True legends stand the everlasting test of time:
Jimmy Hendrix, John Lennon, Elvis Presley and
Buddy Holly. Sadly all have passed away and in
the year of 1998 yet another all time legend followed:
SINATRA!!
Never to return for more encores 'Not So' says
James Chadwick!
James has captured Sinatra's evergreen lyrics,
blended them with Gordon
Jenkins marleresque to the superb swing shift
scores of Nelson Riddle and also combining the
Big Band sound of Count Bassie.
With nostalgic reverence, James portrays the
Sinatra songbook with such classics as 'Tender
Trap', 'My Way', 'Love And Marriage' and of course
the 'Old Blue Eyes' anthem 'New York New York'.
Although Sinatra is primarily famous for his
work with various Big Bands and performing with
arrangers such as Nelson Riddle, he was known
to play many more intimate venues with much smaller
instrumental ensembles, such as quartets, quintets
and sextets. With arrangements brought to you
by piano, double bass, guitar, organ,
drums and sax/clarinet accompanying the vocal
line, this sextet is small enough to recreate
this intimate sound, yet versatile enough to suggest
the swing and feel present in his most famous
recordings.
The late 90's saw a massive resurgence in the
music of Sinatra, with re-release on CD a selection
of albums, one of which was 'Duets' which had
massive success around the world. Then into the
new Millennium with entertainers such as Robbie
Williams and the release of "Swing When Your
Winning" following the success of his sell-out
concert at The Albert
Hall, were he proved the Swing sounds still live
on. Also Rod Stewart's"As Time Goes By"
bringing us his own individual renditions of the
'Rat Pack Swing' nostalger trip.
James was first brought to national attention
when he reached the finale of ITV's "Stars
In Their Eyes" in 1997. Since then he has
performed up and down the country in numerous
venues, with his 'Big Swing Band' and appeared
on a variety of TV shows, both in the UK and abroad.
His relaxed sound and vibe is equally at home
in theatres, hotels, restaurants or corporate
functions and is more versatile still with his
sextet band.
James not only has an uncanny resemblance of
the Legend, but also shares the same birthday
as Sinatra, December the 12 and feels some sort
of infinity with the great man 'Francis Albert'.
Here is your chance to rekindle the memories,
with our salute to Sinatra, with the masterfully
accurate vocals of ' James (Sinatra) Chadwick'
and his 'Swing Sextet'. "Frank Sinatra, the
voice of the last century"
